For patients treated by their general practitioner for pain due to knee osteoarthritis, an intramuscular corticosteroid injection can be a good alternative to an intra-articular injection. This has been shown in research conducted by Erasmus MC.

During Lof der Geneeskunst, four researchers were awarded a fellowship. This enables them to pursue their research over the next four years. Dean Stefan Sleijfer: ‘These are the greatest research talents of Erasmus MC. Their work likely will make an impact on us and our loved ones.’

We all know the pedometer by now. Now there is something new: the stumble meter. This TU Delft invention helps a trauma surgeon at Erasmus MC measure whether people with a new type of leg prosthesis stumble less often. ‘This collaboration has a great future.’
