Prof Wim Vermeulen elected as member of EMBO

The European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) has elected Prof Wim Vermeulen of the Erasmus MC as a new member. Vermeulen and 63 other life scientist will join the network of more than 1,800 leading life scientists.

Wim Vermeulen is a Professor of Genome Stability at the department of Molecular Genetics of the Erasmus MC in Rotterdam. His lab is pursuing an integrated multi-disciplinary approach to dissect the molecular networks underlying the DNA damage response.  ‘I am very proud and honored to become an elected EMBO member as a recognition of our work’, says Vermeulen. 

Outstanding

EMBO is an international organisation of life scientists, which has more than 1,800 members elected by peers. EMBO Membership honours distinguished scientists who have made outstanding contributions to the life sciences, including 90 Nobel Laureates 

Vermeulen and the other new EMBO Members will be formally welcomed at the annual EMBO Members’ Meeting between 27 and 29 October2021.
