Today is the official opening of the Smart Health Tech Center (SHTC) of Erasmus MC. With the establishment of the Smart Health Tech Center, the Erasmus MC has taken a crucial step towards becoming the top technical university medical center in the Netherlands. 

Erasmus MC is the first hospital in the world to apply digital answer-driven questionnaires in the clinic to determine what oncology patients really care about. The questionnaires are fully integrated into the electronic patient record. The results help the patient and his practitioner in the consulting room to discuss the right treatment. 

As of June 1, 2021, Prof.dr. Ruud Selles has been appointed professor with a shared appointment in the departments of Rehabilitation Medicine and Plastic Surgery.
